Oregon's Constitution ExhibitNow Until February 28, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., Free Oregon's recently restored Oregon Constitution is on display in Galleria West from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily, courtesy of the Secretary of State Archives Division.
 Intisar Abioto's "Black Legend, Black, Oregon" Exhibit in the Governor's Ceremonial Office Through March 29 (Monday – Friday, excluding holidays) Free "Black Legend, Black, Oregon" explores the lore and living legend of Black presence in Oregon through photographs of artists, elders, poets, historians, luminaries and beloved community members. Works in the exhibition include images from the artist's ongoing photographic endeavor and exploratory blog The Black Portlanders as well as photographs taken around Oregon for the Urban League of Portland's "State of Black Oregon" 2015 publication.  OSCF Speaker Series Presents: Dede Montgomery "My Music Man"Thursday, February 14, Noon in Hearing Room. Free.
Dede Montgomery brings her personal family history to the Capitol in the telling of her book "My Music Man." Montgomery will also weave in stories of her family roots which trace back to William Willson (man that named Salem, and namesake of Willson Park.) Oregon's 160th Birthday PartySaturday, February 16, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Free Exploring Our Heritage -- Oregon's Birthday Celebration! Cherry Blossom Theatre FestivalMarch The Salem Theatre Network will hold its third annual Cherry Blossom Theatre Festival in March in Salem. The three-day event features 15 performances and five workshops in six venues across the city. The Salem Theatre Network is an alliance of 12 theater organizations with the mission of supporting, promoting, and uniting theatre communities in and around Salem. The Spring Break Passport to Fun! program will run March 25-29, 2019. The Oregon State Capitol, Hallie Ford Museum of Art, Willamette Heritage Center, World Beat Gallery and Salem Art Association have partnered to bring free activities to families. Salem Veterans of Foreign Wars #661 Uniform Display MuseumDATES TBD, Free This annual exhibit is one of the Capitol's most visited. Every year Salem's VFW displays newly acquired uniforms in the Galleria. This year's exhibit features 60 uniforms, including a husband and wife team, a WWI Medal of Honor winner and an Imperial Japanese Army WWII uniform. Take Your Child to Work DayThursday, April 25, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The Oregon State Capitol has a Take Your Child to Work Day fun pack available for this year's event. Minimal activities are available at the Information Kiosk. Families can also go on a self-guided building tour, volunteers will be stationed throughout the building from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. SORRY -- NO TOWER TOURS are available this day. Oregon's Bounty Saturday, October 5, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Free Capitol Galleria/State Capitol State Park Event will showcase the variety of crops harvested in Oregon and shared with the world. Families are encouraged to learn about the significance of agriculture through sight, sound, smell, touch and taste. This will be a free, fun learning event for kids and adults with lots of hands-on activities and displays. This event is sponsored by the Oregon State Capitol Foundation.

A Tribute to VeteransFriday, November 8, Noon to 2 p.m. Free Pay tribute to our military veterans at our annual event. The presentation of the colors, a choral performance, an exhibit, and a speaker series presentation will be on this year's program.

Tuesday, December 3, 5:30 p.m. Free Help kick off Holidays at the Capitol with the annual Tree Lighting Ceremony. A musical performance will transpire from 5 to 5:30 p.m. before the tree lighting ceremony begins. This fun-filled night delights families with a visit from Santa, the Grand Tree coming alive with lights, a model railroad train, free refreshments and more! This event is sponsored by the Oregon State Capitol Foundation.
