House Passes Three Bills to Invest in Growing
Clean Energy Economy

“We’ve heard a lot this session about the need to protect families and create jobs. A lot of discussion has, understandably, been about the things we can do to speed up our recovery.
“One way to do this is to continue to invest in alternative energy technology to make Oregon a center of the growing clean industry while creating the high-skill, high-wage jobs of tomorrow. We passed three bills today that work toward that goal.
“By reforming the BETC and perfecting EEAST we improved our existing clean industry programs by making them more efficient, effective and targeted. And the biomass bill takes advantage of new technologies to create high-wage jobs.”
“Innovative approaches like this will grow our economy now and allow us to stay strong in the future.”
