Nolan Commends Congress for Protecting Teachers, Families
State Legislative leaders urged Congress to provide help to schools
Statement from House Majority Leader Mary Nolan:
“Congress did the right thing today by sending much needed help to school districts across the state, including here in Portland. The national recession has hit local school districts hard, threatening to increase class sizes and shorten the school year. While this funding does not mean we are out of the woods, Oregon Democrats serving in Congress should be commended for sending our tax dollars back home to keep teachers in the classroom.”
