Jonathan Pugsley Named Chief of Staff for
House Majority Leader Mary Nolan

SALEM – House Majority Leader Mary Nolan announced today that Jonathan Pugsley has been named Chief of Staff for the House Democratic Majority Office.  Pugsley brings over a decade of experience to the House Democrats, most recently serving as an Aide to Congressman Kurt Schrader where he represented the Congressman in three counties, specializing in natural resource and education issues.

Pugsley was Hillary Clinton’s field director in Oregon during her 2008 presidential run, followed by a stint as Deputy State Director for Forward Oregon.  His Oregon legislative experience includes serving as a general consultant to FuturePAC, as an aide to State Senator Rick Metsger, and as campaign manager for several state legislative races.

“Jon brings a long record of experience to the House Democratic Caucus.  We are lucky to have him,” said Majority Leader Nolan.  “He will be a great asset as we communicate with Oregonians about our priorities and move our policy agenda through the legislative process.”

Pugsley said he is honored to be given the opportunity by Majority Leader Nolan and is thankful for the trust placed in him by Democratic leaders in the House.

“House Democrats had successful legislative sessions in 2009 and 2010, protecting education, health care and public safety in the face of a national recession and challenging budget,” said Pugsley.  “I hope to contribute to a caucus that continues to put Oregon families and businesses first.”

Pugsley received his Bachelor’s Degree from Southern Oregon State College and his Master’s Degree from Colorado State University.  He lives in Corvallis.
