REPS. KATIE EYRE AND JULIE PARRISH TO CO-HOST
‘LADIES AT THE LEGISLATURE’ DAY
Co-Speakers Bruce Hanna and Arnie Roblan, and Senate President Peter Courtney to
Join as Special Guests
SALEM—Rep. Katie Eyre (R-Hillsboro) and Rep. Julie Parrish (R-West Linn/Tualatin) announced they will co-host the ‘Ladies at the Legislature Workshop’ on Friday, February 17. The workshop is intended to engage and educate women about Oregon government. Reps. Eyre and Parrish hosted four similar legislative days during the 2011 session.
Co-Speakers Bruce Hanna (R-Roseburg) and Arnie Roblan (D-Coos Bay), and Senate President Peter Courtney (D-Salem/Gervais/Woodburn) will be the guest speakers this month. Due to limited space, they are asking interested attendees to RSVP in order to attend.
The workshop is held from 11am-1pm. Women from high-school age and older are invited to come to Salem and experience the legislative process alongside Reps. Eyre and Parrish. The invite is neither district nor party-registration specific.
The first hour will include attending a floor session, going on a Capitol tour or other legislative activities. For the second hour, ladies are invited to bring their own lunch or can buy one in the cafeteria, and will share in conversation with the Representatives and the Co-Speakers.
Attendees should plan to meet in Room 350. For more information about parking or directions to the Capitol, please visit the state website at http://www.leg.state.or.us.
