HILLSBORO TOWN HALL WITH SPEAKER BRUCE HANNA

Legislators to Provide Session Update, Discuss Priority Issues for Constituents

HILLSBORO—Sen. Bruce Starr (R-Hillsboro) and Reps. Shawn Lindsay (R-Hillsboro) and Katie Eyre Brewer (R-Hillsboro) announced today they will host a joint town hall with House Speaker Bruce Hanna (R-Roseburg) in Hillsboro next week.

“From education to human services, the Legislature has many important decisions in the final weeks of session,” Speaker Hanna said. “I look forward to joining Hillsboro’s legislators to discuss these issues, and we strongly encourage citizens to attend this town hall and share their concerns and priorities.”

The town hall is scheduled for Tuesday, May 31 from 6:30-7:30pm. It will be held at the Hillsboro Civic Center Auditorium located at 150 E Main Street in downtown Hillsboro.

The legislators will provide an update on the legislative session, and give constituents an opportunity to share their ideas and ask questions of their elected representatives.

“We will discuss our efforts to spur job creation in Hillsboro and Washington County, and discuss the latest developments in the state budget,” said Rep. Lindsay. “We’re pleased that Speaker Hanna will join us for an informative town hall as the 2011 Legislature draws to a close.”

The town hall is free to attend and open to the public. Any questions or comments about the town hall can be directed to any of the offices.
