REP. MCLANE’S STATEMENT ON PERS REFORM
SALEM, OR – Rep. Mike McLane (R – Powell Butte), House Republican Leader, issued the following statement regarding lack of consideration of PERS reform:
“What Oregonians learned today is that the one party that controls the politics of Salem, the one party with a majority in the House and Senate, the party of our governor, will not allow consideration of a bill that will take us toward fixing PERS. The bill is endorsed by school districts, business groups, and the Fix PERS Now coalition. I urge Speaker Kotek and President Courtney to allow a vote on the PERS bill, SB 857, and let it stand or fall on its own merits. It is time to help our kids and to help our schools.”
