Rep. Mark Johnson (R-Hood River) today shared the story of Pine Grove Elementary School, which has educated students in his district for over a century.  As a member of Hood River School Board, Rep. Johnson and other members were recently forced to close the school because of budget constraints.

He said there’s still time this session to pass reforms that allow school districts to operate more efficiently, direct more dollars to the classroom, and help prevent difficult decisions such as school closures.  Rep. Johnson has sponsored bipartisan legislation this session aimed at stabilizing school funding at the local district level.
