Thank you for visiting my legislative website.
I have been honored to represent House District 46 in the Oregon Legislature since 2011.
I am humbled by the opportunity to represent parts of southeast and northeast Portland. Ten distinct neighborhoods make up District 46, each with their own unique history, character and strengths. However, all need more affordable housing, efficient public transportation, and strong state investment in schools, job creation, health care and vital human services.
As Chair of the House Committee on Human Services and Housing, I devote much of my focus to increasing affordable housing and home ownership; preventing homelessness; and providing tenant protections. I also focus on improving our foster care system, elder care, and safety net for the most vulnerable Oregonians.
I serve on the House Health Care Committee, where I promote public health and access to cost effective health care. On the House Committee on Early Childhood and Family Support, I advocate for pre-natal and early childhood programs, as well as policies that support low income families.
In addition to advocating for every Oregon child to get the right start in life, I strongly support public K-12, post-secondary and career technical education. I strive to create a vibrant, sustainable economy that addresses racial, gender and economic disparities and offers opportunities for all - while protecting our environment.
Please sign up for my list serve, and email or call me with your suggestions or questions, so we can work toward a better Oregon for everyone.
