Statement from House Speaker Tina Kotek on Obstruction of Grand Bargain for Education
“I have moved a great distance to a middle ground that would yield more money for our schools. For me, funding education is worth the other tradeoffs.
“Evidently most Senate Republicans do not believe a no cuts education budget is worth modest reductions in tax breaks that primarily benefit the wealthy and corporations. After all of the work that has gone into crafting this compromise, disappointment is an understatement.”
