Welcome to my legislative website!

I am honored to represent this wonderful community in the Oregon Legislature.  House District 38 includes the City of Lake Oswego and all or parts of these Southwest Portland neighborhoods: Burlingame, Capitol Hill, Carson Heights, Dunthorpe, Englewood, John's Landing, Multnomah Village, Riverdale, Riverwood, Hillsdale and West Portland Park.

In my conversations with community members over the past months and years, you have identified very important concerns for our district: keeping people safe, keeping our community healthy, and keeping our economy moving. I look forward to working with you to advance these priorities in Salem. Please contact our office any time with your needs and ideas.

About our community

People in our community care deeply about education.  House District 38 is home to Lake Oswego, Lakeridge, Riverdale, and Wilson high schools.  Lewis and Clark College and Northwestern School of Law are also in our district, and the Sylvania campus of Portland Community College is just over the district boundary.  A high proportion of adults here have Bachelors degrees or more.

House District 38 includes bustling commercial hubs in downtown Burlingame, Lake Grove, Lake Oswego, and Multnomah Village, though this is largely a residential district.  Some of our residents work in the Kruse Way area or at nearby universities or medical facilities.  Still more drive to jobs in downtown Portland, Wilsonville, or the Silicon Forest.  Residents of House District 38 care about a strong regional economy and good transportation systems.

The environment is of great importance: we value open space, natural areas, a clean river, and protection from air pollution.  People here are also concerned about climate change.

Constituents have made it clear that supporting families still struggling with the realities of a recovering economy, as well as providing safe and accessible services for seniors in our district, are critically important to the health, safety, and well being of our community.

I am thankful for the members of our community who have already shared their ideas and concerns with me.  I look forward to hearing from more of you; I welcome and encourage your input.  Please call me at 503-986-1438 or email me at to share your thoughts.

Thank you for granting me the opportunity to serve our great district.

Warm regards,
