Welcome to my legislative website!

I am honored to represent this wonderful community in the Oregon Legislature.  House District 38 includes the City of Lake Oswego and all or parts of these Southwest Portland neighborhoods: Burlingame, Capitol Hill, Carson Heights, Dunthorpe, Englewood, John's Landing, Multnomah Village, Riverdale, Riverwood, Hillsdale and West Portland Park.

In my regular conversations with community members, you have shared your priorities for our district: expanding economic opportunity, strengthening our public education system, and protecting vulnerable people. I look forward to working with you to advance these priorities in Salem. Please contact our office any time with your needs and ideas.

About our community

House District 38 is largely a residential district, but includes bustling commercial hubs in downtown Burlingame, Lake Grove, Lake Oswego, and Multnomah Village. Some of our residents work in the Kruse Way area or at nearby universities or medical facilities. Still more drive to jobs in downtown Portland, Wilsonville, or the Silicon Forest. Residents of House District 38 care about a strong regional economy and good transportation systems.

People in our community also care deeply about education. House District 38 is home to four great high schools: Lake Oswego, Lakeridge, Riverdale, and Wilson High. Lewis and Clark College and the Northwestern School of Law are also in our district, and the Sylvania campus of Portland Community College is just over the district boundary. A high proportion of adults here have Bachelors degrees or more.

Many of us share a strong commitment to protecting our environment: we value open space, natural areas, a clean river, and protection from air pollution. Residents here are also vocal about climate change and our responsibility to be forward-thinking and solution-driven.

You have made it clear that it's important to support families still struggling with the realities of a changing economy, people who need affordable housing, and help for seniors and people who struggle with chronic health problems. I share these concerns, which are critically important to the health, safety, and well being of our whole community.

I am so thankful for the members of our community who have already shared ideas and comments. I encourage you to get in touch and I look forward to hearing from more of you! Please call me at 503-986-1438 or email me at to share your thoughts.

Thank you for the opportunity to serve our great district.

Warm regards,
