The purpose of the forum is to build working relationships among the NOW chapters statewide in order to develop and advocate for NOW's legislative agenda in 2018.
· Identify key pieces of legislation that are expected in the 2018 short legislative session as well as important initiative efforts for the 2018 ballot
· Discuss upcoming legislation with some of our partners in larger coalitions:
Family Forward, Ceasefire Oregon, and Planned Parenthood
· Talk with invited representatives to the Oregon Legislature and a representative from the governor's office about important legislation and effective ways to advocate for issues of importance to NOW
· Prioritize NOW legislative efforts for 2018 and develop strategies for working together on both state and, if time allows, national issues
If you can join us, please RSVP by email to this email address (email@example.com
) with the subject line "Nov 4th Forum".no later than October 28th.
Please tell us who you are and identify the chapter of which you are a member. Note any dietary restrictions or preferences, please. If there are legislative issues that are very important to you or your chapter, please tell us about those.
Feel free to invite other members of your chapter. The only thing we stress is that we plan this forum as an interactive, working meeting. Please come with concerns and ideas at the ready. A full agenda will be distributed shortly.
