Thank you for visiting my legislative webpage. I’m honored to serve Gresham, Troutdale, Fairview, and Wood Village as your State Senator. Please feel free to contact my legislative staff in my Salem office at 503-986-1725 or my district office, located in Gresham City Hall, at 503-618-3071.
As a legislator and retired public health nurse, one of my ongoing top priorities has been improving our health care system in order to expand access to quality and affordable care for families and small business owners. I have witnessed firsthand the deficiencies of our current health care system. As the price of health care spirals out of control, too many Oregonians lack the means to access even basic health services. This is why I continue to advocate for quality health care that is affordable and accessible, and have led the charge for health care reform in Oregon where we have earned the reputation as a national leader.
In addition to working as a nurse, I am a former school board member and the mother of two children who attended our public schools. This perspective has helped me understand the strengths and weaknesses of our public education system. I am committed to improving school efficiency and keeping dollars in our classrooms. No child in Oregon should be denied the opportunity to learn and succeed as a result of increased class sizes, administrative waste, or unsafe neighborhoods.
My priorities include improving our health care system, investing in job creation, and working to protect Oregon’s most vulnerable citizens. As always, it’s important that I hear from you about your priorities. Your opinions are the most important when it’s time for me to make decisions in the legislative process.
As always, I’m happy to discuss ideas for future legislation, questions about my legislative work, or any other concerns you have.
Laurie Monnes Anderson
State Senator, District 25
