Welcome friends and neighbors!
My name is Rod Monroe and I am proud to represent Senate District 24, which includes east Portland and north Clackamas County.
In this 78th Legislative Session, my priorities are to reinvest in our schools, get Oregonians back to work, and care for our most vulnerable. As a retired teacher and co-chair of the Ways and Means Education Sub-Committee, my top priority is to stop teacher layoffs and reduce class sizes so all Oregonians have access to quality education from early childhood through higher education. Finally, I know that students need adequate nutrition in order to learn and grow in the classroom, so I'm working hard to reduce childhood hunger in Oregon by supporting before and after-school and summer nutrition programs.
As a member of the Business and Transportation Committee and Transportation and Economic Development Ways and Means Sub-Committee, I'm also working to improve transportation safety and efficiency, and keep drivers who are under the influence off our roads. I encourage all my constituents to visit my office in the Capitol during the legislative session. Please feel free to stop by and say hi, or give us a call beforehand and I would be happy to host you on the floor of the Oregon Senate!
As always, your feedback is incredibly important to my work in the Capitol. Please feel free to contact my office with any questions, comments, or concerns.
