Oregon Rules of Civil Procedure (ORCP)
2023 Edition

The Oregon Rules of Civil Procedure govern civil proceedings in Oregon circuit courts. The Council on Court Procedures (CCP) drafted a comprehensive set of civil trial court rules and submitted these rules to the 1979 Legislative Assembly, which adopted the ORCP effective January 1, 1980. The CCP promulgates, amends and repeals rules as needed and formally reports to the Legislature at the beginning of each odd-year regular session. The CCP’s changes take effect on the January 1 following adjournment of that session unless the Legislative Assembly provides an earlier effective date.  The Legislative Assembly may amend, repeal or supplement any of the rules.
