The Legislative Policy and Research Office’s (LPRO’s) Language Access Team supports Oregonians in engaging with lawmakers by providing American Sign Language and spoken language interpretation, translation, and live captioning services.​

To request spoken language interpretation, translation of a legislative document, American Sign Language (ASL) interpretation, or Communication Access Realtime Translation (CART) services, please email languageaccess@oregonlegislature.gov or call 503-986-1538. 

LPRO will use its best efforts to provide requested services within three business days' notice of the date the request is made, but more time may be required to arrange for specific requests to be fulfilled. Upon request, we offer:
  • Spoken language interpretation or ASL interpretation to support testimony in a committee hearing or to meet with a legislator
  • ​​​​Translation of a legislative document, such as written testimony or a summary of a bill or amendment
  • CART services, live captioning of a committee hearing

  • Interpretation or translation of Spanish or other spoken languages
  • American Sign Language

Please submit a request for language services a minimum of three days prior to the start of a public hearing, please email languageaccess@oregonlegislature.gov or call 503-986-1538.

​​LPRO's Language Access Team provides several resources to help Oregonians communicate with their lawmakers. Any interested person can share their thoughts with lawmakers during a public hearing of a legislative committee.​
