Many of us are looking for ways to offer what we can to others in need. Here is a list of some opportunities to share resources and volunteer your time.

• Donate your blood – Emergency blood supplies are low. Call 541-779-3773 and visit Southwest Oregon Chapter Red Cross to give blood or host or donor drive.
  
  
• Donate personal protective equipment (PPE) – There is a nationwide shortage of PPE for health care workers, including masks, gloves and gowns. Donations are accepted at Jackson County Expo, 1 Peninger Road in Central Point; enter at Gate 2 for drive-through drop-off 7-10AM, 7 days a week. • Give money – United Way of Jackson County has established this COVID-19 Fund and the Oregon Community Foundation has set up a Recovery Fund to directly support community relief. Local food banks and nonprofit advocacy groups that serve homeless residents and seniors are also need of our financial support.
  
  
• Spread the word – Download and share these “Stay Home, Save Lives” graphics on social media; available in several languages.
  
  
• Help elderly and homeless residents – Jackson County Emergency Operations Center is seeking support (Mail Tribune article); contact Brooke Amposta at AmpostBA@JacksonCounty.org​.
  
  
• Deliver meals to seniors – Food and Friends, our local Meals on Wheels program, is in need of volunteers for home delivery. Call 541-734-9505 to learn more.
  
  
• Directly support your neighbors – Here are ideas for Neighbors Helping Neighbors. In Ashland, sign up for the Ashland Adopt a Neighbor program.
  
  
• Support local businesses – Use the COVID-19 Food System Resource List to support local farmers, food producers and CSAs. Use the Southern Oregon for Southern Oregon database to support local businesses. 
  
  
• Support foster families – Every Child Oregon and statewide partners have teamed up to acquire and deliver food, supplies and other resources for youth, children, foster families and families impacted by foster care. Volunteer to help and donate.
  
  
• Help build the Disaster Registry – Volunteers work from home to call a list of 45-60 individuals and update their information once a quarter, building a database of people who need assistance during disasters. Learn more here or call 541-664-7927.​
