I am honored to serve as the Senator for District 25, the district includes Gresham, Fairview, Troutdale and Wood Village.

Even though there are challenges we must face, I know that by working together we can continue to strengthen our community and all of Oregon​​. ​

M​y experience as an educator and former police officer provides me with the perspective to improve how the legislature works with repect to tax payers. All for the  benefit of our economy, the quality of our schools and the strength of our community.

I'm proud to serve as Co-Chair the Joint Transportation Committee and the Joint Interstate Bridge Committee, the Special Subcommittee on Transportation Planning, the Public Safety Subcommittee of Joint Ways and Means, and the Senate Committee on Veterans and Emergency Management. In addition to my committee assignments I'm a Co-Chair of the bicameral Wildlife and Rail Caucuses. I also serve on the Oregon Hanford Cleanup Board and the Oregon School Background Checks Taskforce as part of my overall focus on individual and environmental safety. 

For the past eight years I've worked with the Innocence Project and the Northwestern School of Law's Center on Wrongful Convictions of Youth to reform youth justice policies. I look forward to using my positions on these committees, caucuses and boards to improve and protect the communities in our district.
