| Sarah Curry, Journal Clerk
503-986-1872 sarah.curry@oregonlegislature.gov - Prepares, revises, and publishes the Journal of the House of Representatives as directed by the Oregon Constitution. This Journal consists of the daily floor proceedings, various member information, and cumulative session data.
- Oversees the creation and distribution of additional publications as needed (House Rules, Process and Protocols, Member Guidebooks, and many more).
- Prepares and distributes a House agenda and Speaker script each session day.
- Distributes and validates member per diem forms.

- Reads all official documents out loud for the record: Messages from the Governor, Messages from the Senate, First Readings, Second Readings, Third Readings, and special announcements.
- Assists Chief Clerk in operating voting system and ensuring member’s votes are recorded on all motions. and measures.
- Maintains and organizes the Opening Ceremonies order of business, including all invocations and special musical and theatrical performances in the chamber.
- Processes office and members Approval for Payments.

503-986-1873 mandi.mcgowan@oregonlegislature.gov - Oversees and manages all aspects of the Oregon House measure history, status reports & OLIS; Records all formal House proceedings during daily sessions, including: votes and corresponding motions and actions into OLIS.
- Manages the House measure introduction process, which includes verifying that all measures that are delivered back from LC are ready for formal introduction.
- Manages the enrolling process and oversees and supervises all House member sponsorship requests; Coordinates all Parchment copies of bill, letters to Congress, and all other dignitaries.
- Manages for all House members and staff the ordering of official stationery.

and regulates the flow of all legislation through the House and its committees
to ensure compliance with Constitutional requirements and House rules.
- Serves
as the primary liaison to chairs and committees during the notification and
scheduling process of Senate amendments to House bills.
- Schedules
all bills reported out of committee for action by the House, manages the official communication of the House, and coordinates transmission of all bills passed by the House to and from the Senate.
- Coordinates the daily proofing of legislative proceedings and managing the post–Sine Die revision process to ensure accurate and complete Final Status Report and Journal publications.
- Administers the Chief
Clerk’s Office college internship program.

- Answers phone calls, checks voicemails, and refers callers to the appropriate party.
- Engages with the public, members, and staff as a non-partisan information resource.
- Assists with a wide variety of publication projects, including the editing and maintenance of the House Journal.
- Proofreads manuscripts to identify any grammatical and spelling errors.
- Manages office social media accounts.

| Al Bathke, Sergeant at Arms

Sergeant at Arms is an officer of the House as outlined in House Rule 15.05 (3) and reports to the Chief Clerk of the House, and the Speaker of the House in accordance with HR 15.05(3).
- The Sergeant serves as its chief protocol officer and is responsible
for enforcing complex protocols and rules that restrict access to the House Chamber
and adjacent areas.
- The Sergeant, in coordination with capitol security and
Oregon State Police maintain order in the chamber and other areas assigned to
the House, maintains
constant awareness of security needs and breaches of decorum and protocol during
session. Enforces floor (House Chamber) privileges and access when the House is
in session according to House Rule 17.01.
- When
HR 3.55 (call of the House) is invoked, the Sergeant shall cause all members
of the House not excused to come to the Chamber. Officially reports to the Speaker
the whereabouts of all House members.
