Clean Energy Jobs Work Groups
During the 2017 session, the Senate and House environment committees held a series of joint meetings to hear from experts regarding state and regional cap-and-invest policies and programs. This led to the introduction of the Clean Energy Jobs bill, Senate Bill 1070, at the end of the session. It is now time for more detailed work on individual components of an Oregon program.
To address important policy questions that are not yet decided, Senator Dembrow and Representative Helm are convening four Clean Energy Jobs work groups to review and make recommendations on specific components of a cap-and-invest program for Oregon. The four work groups and respective Chairs are listed below, including links to work group pages with additional information, meeting times, agendas, and materials:

UPDATE: Date/time for Meeting #3 of Work Group on Utilities and Transportation has changed to November 7, 10am-12pm.
Each work group will be given an overall charge and a short list of specific questions to answer that are designed to advance our work toward improving Senate Bill 1070. Each work group will be chaired by a legislator who will lead the group through a process designed to answer the identified questions. Work groups are expected to meet three times between now and November; and all work groups will hold a first meeting on September 21, 2017, in Hearing Room 50 at the State Capitol. Work group recommendations and outcomes will be reported to a joint meeting of the Senate and House environment committees in later November.
