Thank you for visiting my legislative website.
I am honored to represent the people of House District 30 - which includes Hillsboro, Helvetia, Rockcreek, and West Union. I have lived and worked in Hillsboro for many years and have deep ties to the community. I have been an active volunteer with local organizations like the Hillsboro Schools Foundation, the Hillsboro 2035 Community Plan Oversight Committee, and the Washington County Chamber of Commerce. I also served for four years on the Oregon Government Ethics Commission and was chair of the commission in 2020.
I am excited for the 2023 legislative session which runs from mid-January to late-June. I am serving as vice chair of the House Committee on Business and Labor and I also sit on the House Committee on Higher Education, the Joint Committee on Semiconductors, and the Joint Committee on Ways and Means Subcommittee on Transportation and Economic Development. Additionally, I was elected by my colleagues as one of two vice chairs for policy and communications for the BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, and People of Color) Caucus. I am grateful for the opportunity to join the Caucus' leadership team and continue the fight for racial equality in Oregon.
My Priorities during the 82nd Legislative Session:
I am committed to working with my colleagues on both sides of the aisle on issues that matter most to our community – including housing / homelessness, helping small business and working families, education, public safety, and transportation. Personally, I will be working in policy areas related to consumer protection, higher education, and good governance. Here are a few of the bills for which I am the chief sponsor:
Age Discrimination in Employment: HB 2800
Auto Dealer Financing: HB 2801
Higher Education Non-profit Work Study Pilot Programs: HB 2802
Open Meetings Law: HB 2805
Executive Session Law: HB 2806
